Teach the Teachers Workshop in AK

Bear Trust, Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, Alaska Department of Fish and Game, and the University of Alaska Anchorage hosted a “teach the teachers” workshop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center in Portage, AK on Nov 11-12, 2011.

The workshop was part of a continuing education course for high school teachers, based on lessons in Bear Trust’s Curriculum Guide to The Bear Book.

These teachers are now implementing the lessons from Curriculum Guide to The Bear Book into their classrooms.

Lessons in the Curriculum Guide to The Bear Book target high school learners, address specific goals outlined by STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math; a US campaign to help our students become more competitive in science and math) and meet National Science Standards.
