New Executive Director of Bear Trust

It is with both excitement and sadness that I announce I am stepping down as Executive Director of Bear Trust International.  It has been my honor to serve Bear Trust for the past decade ―  I’ve greatly enjoyed working with so many incredibly passionate conservationists.  Thank you!  I am stepping down so that I may pursue wildlife research.  However, I will continue to serve as Bear Trust’s interim Director of Administration and Conservation Programs during the transition.

Which brings me to the next announcement:  Bear Trust is pleased to welcome Logan Young as its new Executive Director!  Logan has a degree in business with three minors in economics, and he is a seasoned professional guide who grew up in the guide outfitting and ranching industry. Logan has guided hundreds of clients and conservationists on high country adventures in the northern Yukon. With a passion for promoting and protecting wildlife and wild places, he is excited to be the new Executive Director of Bear Trust International.

While spending most of his childhood in between Calgary and Northern British Columbia, Logan grew up riding into the mountains in pack boxes and has spent nearly half of his life in hunting camps. From the early age of seven, he received the North American Youth Hunter of the Year award for his early involvement in the conservation industry. He was on his first sheep hunt at the age of six and his first grizzly hunt at the age of eight.

Please join the entire Bear Trust Board of Directors in welcoming Logan Young to our conservation team

Thank you, Melissa Reynolds-Hogland, PhD
